Faster than the speed of bluegrass!
David Clark Carroll has dug deep into traditional bluegrass over the last decade, and as the regional VP for the California Bluegrass Association hosts multiple jams around the Nevada County area. He has played everything from punk rock to dixieland over the years but found his calling in new acoustic music. Daring Coyotes exist to bring his original tunes to life in an acoustic band setting with no boundaries, to be at home anywhere from the Grand Ol Opry to Winter Wondergrass and everywhere in between. Frequently performing as a trio or quartet, fellow Public String Band members fill out this eclectic band of jammers featuring James Pritchett on bass, Kyle Kunert on banjo and Jamie Ervin on guitar.
David has played around Northern California for over a decade in several bands and genres. A multi-instrumentalist, he has played banjo and guitar as a solo act out of the North Bay, tenor banjo as an original member in the dixieland and western swing band Earles of Newtown, joined the short lived but very fun Sonora Aereo Club on banjo and mandolin, played guitar and 5 string banjo with Spruce Moose, and mandolin and guitar with the offshoot Spruce Mountain. Besides Daring Coyotes he currently plays mandolin and guitar with the Public String Band in Nevada County, and also with the Sacramento based Blue Mountain Quartet who were privileged to play the Vern Stage at Grass Valley’s own Fathers Day Bluegrass Festival in 2017.
