Daring Coyotes was born under the high deserts winter moon in Joshua Tree as David Clark Carroll coaxed notes out of his mandolin to the howls of coyotes and grew into a hard driving progressive bluegrass band. 2019 saw Daring Coyotes hit stages all over Northern California as a trio culminating in a short tour along the Humboldt coast.
After moving back east in 2021, David now performs all over New England as Daring Coyotes. Exploring new improvisatory acoustic instrumentals on solo mandolin, singing and playing original folk songs on solo guitar, or leading a psychedelic string band through hard driving original and traditional bluegrass on mandolin and guitar are all potential expressions of the restless musical spirit that fuels David.
Since 2024, the live Daring Coyotes experience features true musical explorer Ryan Seiler (Brokestring and the Empty Promises, Rock Bottom String Band) on bass and accordion while David plays a wide range of instruments with strings and frets in a dynamic psychedelic folk duo format.
