Originally formed in Nevada County, California as a side project to David’s more traditional bluegrass bands, Daring Coyotes plays hard driving original music as well as traditional tunes. First spotted outside their local confines on the same stage in Humboldt County graced by folks like Greensky Bluegrass (admittedly not the same night) Daring Coyotes were off to a strong start playing all over Northern California in 2019 before the entire world hit pause.
Currently, the psychedelic string band trio of Daring Coyotes features former touring folk punk bassist and current true musical explorer Ryan Seiler on bass. On guitar, we are lucky that Matt Emmer manages to find some time away from performing and writing their own excellent original music to play highly unexpected and inventive lines and sing some of their own songs. The first fall after moving back east, in a museum courtyard in North Adams, MA at Freshgrass just before Bela Fleck took the stage, David was playing mandolin inside some modern art when he met Jordan Worldpeace. And with that the East Coast incarnation of Daring Coyotes String Band came to life, through extensive jam sessions at the centrally located Worldpeace Productions studio with other like minded local musicians. Former bassist and current dobro shredder, Jordan has been a multi-instrumentalist on the NYC and New England Jam scene for over 20 years. He has played with large regional acts such as Franklin Turnpike, The Ramapo Mountain Boys and The Worcester County Bluegrass All-stars.
Currently featuring guitarists Dave Schottland and Sam Brown and bassists Brandon Magnuson and Mike Foster. Over the last year they’ve played at a wide range of Western Massachusetts venues and look forward to a 2024 with lots more music to be had!
The band got together last year and spent some time in the studio doing some recording. Produced and engineered by Jordan Worldpeace featuring many special guests over the Winter 2022 at his studio in Sturbridge, MA.
